One more day to go, fellow TOA Berliners!
For the TOA Team the excitement is comparable to a 10 year old, one day before X-Mas. Here some information about what is going to happen during the 2 days of the festival.
DAY 1: Thursday, 23rd August
On the first day of the festival, the doors at Kater Holzig open at 9:00. A small breakfast (French style! But no worries, you don’t have to smoke! ) will be served to all morning atendees – so make sure you are on time.
The welcome talk starts at 9:30, followed by an open “Why Berlin?” stand up outside, where anyone is invited to share their story about what makes Berlin such a special place. The session is moderated by Mike Butcher.
The speakers’ program then runs until 17:00 across three different rooms (The Big Picture, Advanced Sessions and E-Fifteen).
There will also be two “Pitch Anonymous” sessions outside where you can pitch VCs from Holtzbrinck Ventures (11:30am-12:30pm) and Wellington Partners (3pm-3:30pm) in a real confession chair, no joke! The anonymity allows you to ask and share anything you want!
At 17:00 the entertainment part starts. We will have the renowned Friday at Six talk show, a live gig with the legendary Grammy Award winning Daddy Hemingway and cool DJ sets while BBQing the night away. If you play an instrument, bring it and get the chance to Jam with Daddy and other attendees! (Webbies would call that “collaboration”!:-))
Other cool stuff: Hula Hoop Dancing and PowerPoint Karaoke for everybody to take part in! Of course TOA attendees can stay at Kater Holzig to party the night away in Berlin’s legendary venue.
Check out the full detailed program for DAY 1 at program.toaberlin.com.
If you are a smartphone user, the OleaPark app is your best friend. Download it now so that you can check out any program changes or updates during the day on your iPhone or Android. You will also be able see who else is attending the event with you and to send your questions directly to the TOA speakers.
DAY 2: Friday, 24th August
The second day features over 20 confirmed Satellite Events. These are hosted by some of the coolest companies in Berlin, from small startups like Ondango or Kinderfee to bigger, well-known brands like Tumblr, Axel Springer Media Entrepreneurs, KPMG or Bertelsmann.
Start your day with a breakfast meet up, spend the day learning in multiple workshops and end it with a glorious rooftop cocktail or by betting your start up, your Rolex (vintage Casio?) or your cat at the Start Up poker.
The complete list of all the events can be found at satellites.toaberlin.com. Since space may be limited at some events, please don’t forget to RSVP in time. Make sure you keep checking back regularly, as more events are likely to be added in the coming days.
If you are an iPhone user, we suggest you grab the new app from our friends at Vamos. Not only will they help keep you up-to-date with all TOA Berlin satellite events, they will also suggest other cool events around you.
Ok, time to hit the sack. X-Mas is just around the corner! :-)
